It’s about conversations.
It’s about wishes.
Advance care planning is a process of reflection and communication. It is a time for you to reflect on your values and wishes, and to let people know what kind of health and personal care you would want in the future if you were unable to speak for yourself. - RTO/NSTU
Alyson Hillier is the President of the Nova Scotia Retired Teachers Organization. She and other retired teachers worked together to develop a program for seniors as we age. There may come a time for each of us when we are unable to make decisions for ourselves. This can create difficult, emotional challenges for family members and professionals. Advanced Care Planning guides us in creating documents such as a personal directive and having discussions with family members about our wishes before this time comes.
Alyson Hillier has done several of these workshops across the province, and is very happy to be invited to Harbourville to do another one.
